Wanderings & Witterings

Remembrance

Like many others across the UK and in Tunisia I took time out to reflect and remember and pray and try to make some sense of the unimaginable tragedy that took place in Tunisia last weekend.

I joined others in a packed church in Abronhill in Cumbernauld, where two of those killed had worshipped and served. If there was some comfort in numbers then I hope we were able to both gain and give some from the amazing show of support on display.

Later in the afternoon I went down to the Langriggs in Cumbernauld Village where, this time last year, there was a wonderful display of poppies in the wild-flower gardens. There weren't quite as many on display today but, caught in the bright sunlight of a beautiful July afternoon, they fairly added a dash of colour to the garden.

Remembering. And hoping those who are feeling the deepest pain will find the strongest comfort.
