Festival for Reborn Police Boxes

It was stair rods of rain at dawn this morning, and all looked hopeless for the rest of the day, but miracles do happen to surprise even the most entrenched pessimist like me, and this afternoon became brighter and brighter until the sky turned blue and the sun shone. It never fails to amaze me how the sun can transform my mood.

With the clearing weather we jaunted down to the seaside in the afternoon to attend the opening exhibition at the Velvet Easel in Portobello High Street. The large proffered glasses of wine certainly produced results and we came away with the smallest purchase possible, a small stained glass window plaque although there was a multitude of beautiful paintings and craft objects which tempted us.

When we got back to our neck of the woods we were regaled by an impromptu music recital beside the reborn-as- a -café police box at the top of Middle Meadow Walk. It seems there is a celebration of these reborn police boxes in Edinburgh at the moment.
