Brand new....

I went back to Iping common this afternoon to have another quick look at the silver studded blues, and I was somewhat surprised and upset to find just 5! I guess the season must be over ....but that is a bit of a  nasty shock I thought it would be in full swing! 
Pondering on how fast the year is slipping by and how Autumn is just around the corner I noticed this lovely sandy coloured grasshopper. On closer inspection I realised he had just changed his skin for the last time into a winged adult, as the larval skin was right beside him on the next heather stalk! 
Based on how hairy he is underneath I think he is a Field grasshopper Chorthippus brunneus, I have added a shot of his larval skin in my extras.
