Thrunton Crags

We said goodbye to T and D (who were heading off to the beach with their grandchildren), hitched up the caravan mid-morning and MrM drove us home.

A bite to eat and some unpacking before setting off for a walk in Thrunton Woods. We headed up on the forest paths and after peering down from the crags, and admiring the view, descended by a VERY steep path to find the hill fort. (And were amazed, as we slowly picked our way down, to pass a guy carrying a mountain bike on the way up. He remarked that he was a "bit lost"!)

The area of the hill fort was quite wonderful - lots of huge, very ancient gnarled beech trees and one or two oaks.

Arrived back at the flat as the first flash of lightning lit up the High Street. Just enough time to take in the washing before the heavens opened...
