Hanging gardens of Brown's Bay.......

......I went down to beach level this morning to take some pics of the self-seeded, escaped-from-local-garden-lovelies cascading down the cliff at Brown's Bay, they're looking particularly splendid this year. This was sort of following on from a phonecall I made to the Council yesterday suggesting that if/when they cut the grass on the main bulk of the site (todays extra pic, it must be a bugger to cut!) they introduce some saltwater hardy perennial wildflower seeds and maybe a few random shrubs and then just leave nature to do its thing. The problem was, the lady on the other end of the line couldn't seem to get it into her head that I wasn't complaining about the fact that the grass hadn't been cut (she kept launching into a scripted response about staffing and time constraints) when I was actually trying to suggest a less labour intensive, and possibly more attractive/bio-diversified way forward.......maybe I'll send them some pictures by way of a follow up........
