Green Shieldbug Stamps Itself As Today's Contender

Anyone remember Green Shield stamps? :) Jethro Tull sang about them. "We'll take pounds, francs and dollars from the well-heeled, And stamps from the Green Shield."

I've chosen this ubiquitous insect today because I like the simplicity of the image, the colour contrast and the insect's beady eyes. I think this is a fourth instar green shieldbug. It's on a young field maple leaf.
