Intelligent Mammals

Not the ones firing off the flashes on their ipads and smartphones, then wondering why they've got a big white blob and not a nice picture of a dolphin swimming by.

SeaWorld today. Kinda torn on that one. I'd already been aware of the Blackfish film that claimed to expose the more unsavoury, and shocking, aspects of their Orca shows. Had added it to a list on Netflix but left it at that. After visiting today though, with the many thousands of others, and enjoying (by way of shittin' bricks) the big roller coasters and the shows (NOT the Orca one though, nobody really keen on that at all even before we'd watched the movie) we watched it tonight. Safe to say, and despite reading up a bit more on the company's reaction, not sure we'll be heading back there any time soon. Think there may be better ways to support wildlife, for us and for them, than throwing money in that direction.

After all that it was good to get back for a dip in the pool and a refreshing beer or two. Nice to still be swimming as the stars came out. And there was hardly any thunder and/or lightning today either.
