Yesterday's Papers

I've always said that I can get LooseCanon to take me out for lunch as long as I'm prepared to cycle there. So it was that today we cycled to Hidcote Gardens, National Trust property near Chipping Campden Gloucestershire.
We've been going there for years but in the last couple of years they have redesigned the entrance and you are now able to see some of the downstairs rooms where Lawrence Johnston the creator of the gardens used to live. Apparently there are plans to open all of the ground floor to the public.
I liked this little table bearing a newspaper from July 1950 and a big vase of garden flowers.
We cycled about 35 miles and had a lovely lunch.
