TIME FOR RESEARCH....

... for those following my "journey" here, know I am actively involved in our local Prostate Cancer Support group, and today was a community forum held in Sydney by ANZUP Cancer Trials Group Limited .

It was really well conducted with loads of information from the 8 speakers, with their topics covered from the clinical research highlights through cost of Cancer, and everything in between. The talks allowed for many questions in the end Q&A session.

If you wish to check their web site, ANZUP are active in arranging and coordinating clinical trial research to improve treatment of bladder, kidney, testicular and prostate cancers all "below the belt".

Was surprised (probably should not be!!) at a couple of the stats, one indicating the cost of medications to treat these cancers had risen from 2000 to 2012 by A$410 million, 68% of the drugs involved not on our PBS Government funding list, hence causing what was referred to as "financial toxicity"  for people involved in needing the medication.

All in all, a most interesting and enlightening day.

Leaving at 4pm and not having a Blip, walked out of the venue and took this skyline shot of the Chifley Square area of the city.
