Time for Pimm's?

It really is a colourful time of year in the garden, and despite it being a dismal Sunday on the South Coast, it was a joy to stroll around the garden between showers.
Our hanging baskets have yet to burst into full bloom, but just a few days of sunshine during the week and plenty of watering during the hot dry spell, and these planters have come on magnificently.
We ordered the baskets relatively late this year, from Jersey, and though they arrived ready planted, the first blooms are only just appearing. In a day or two however, I am assured they will become a blaze of generous colour like this.
Elsewhere roses are still going strong, and we take pride in nurturing  a wild orchid that was so nearly cast aside when we first discovered it.
The weather forecast looks bleak for the week ahead with seemingly no real periods of sunshine expected until next weekend. But it is relatively warm, so maybe our hanging baskets will still gather pace.

I do hope so, because they will make the appearance of the front of our place that much more inviting. And provide the right atmosphere for early evening Pimm's in the garden.
