Today's Exercise

I hit upon another quiet and relaxing spot today — this time only a few steps off the shopping centre in the Hampshire town of Totton.
The small stretch of water in the town’s Memorial Park nestles in landscaped grounds just behind the local police station and council offices and provides a serene oasis only a few yards from the town’s busy shopping area.
Oh yes, there were one or two people walking dogs while I was there, and a mother with two young children. Otherwise, it seemed I had the entire park to myself.
I was in the town for my regular five-weekly hair cut and trim — when you are thin on top, it’s rather more trim than cut! But at least it’s a tidy up.
So, in a sense I was content to wander through the park on my own. My wife who accompanied me to the hairdresser and her own session, had decided to go on home while I dealt with one or two items of shopping, went to the bank and the Post Office. Oh yes, and an espresso.

My diary for the rest of the week threatens a busy few days ahead with precious little time for a mooch around the park. So the opportunity for exercise in the guise of an energetic walk was most welcome.
