Fishing on the Adriatic

We've settled in nicely on the east coast of Italy, just above Jesolo. The girls, who had spent the night at friends in Padova, met up with us just in time for lunch.

I mentioned that we are vacationing in a agro-tourism resort. All the foods on premises are cultivated or grown here and completely fresh. For breakfast, we went to pick up whole bread, whole milk, fresh butter and an out-of-this-world pear and hazelnut jam. Lunch was homemade pasta with artichokes and tomatoes and freshly picked salads, closing up with strawberry tart with just a hint of lemon in the creme anglaise.

We explored the beach, where I spotted this 'serious' fisherman at work, and then just retreated to the huge pool which we had all to ourselves. I guess tourist season hasn't quite kicked off yet.

At some point, we'll plan some 'cultural' visits around here. For now: farniente is the name of the game :)
