What a lovely day:-

to Hive a Swarm

Here is a swarm of bees entering their new home.

It is best to deal with the swarm like this in the evening because the bees, being sensible, want to get home for the night, rather than fly off over the fields.

A ramp is placed at the front of the hive because it is instinct for the bees to walk uphill. Here you can see then doing just that.

It has been a most unusual year for bee keeping and I have been completely taken by surprise by the number of late swarms.

This is not the time to have a phobia about an insect! There must be something like ten  thousand bees here.
