VIVE LA DIFFERENCE!!

An interesting mandolin. It was built in Paris in 1923 and very much a collector's item.

For me, the interesting part is that in the classical Neapolitan mandolins the table slopes down behind the bridge whereas in this one slopes about 10° upwards! Plus there's a double table.

It's a really intelligent design...!!

We have to find some tulip wood to replace the missing binding - God bless the French - they call tulip wood "bois de rose" - they call rosewood "pallissandre" - their helicopter blades turn in the opposite direction to all the rest of the world's manufacturers!

Awkward & cranky, but brilliant!
