Lone Poppy on a Derelict Piece of Land

Found this beautiful, lone poppy on a derelict piece of land at the yard, so it is another flower blip from me and it's not even Flower Friday.

It's been a tricky few days in the local equestrian community with a near-by outbreak of Strangles, a particularly nasty & very contagious bacterial infection of horses that infects the glands in the respiratory tract. Johnny contracted the disease just over 4 years ago and because he was allergic to Penicillin it was difficult to treat him and so he was a particularly bad case. It took at least 2 years to get him back to full health & fitness. We have put isolation procedures around the yard and a lockdown so no horses can travel off the yard...that means no competitions for us for the next few weeks, but that is a small sacrifice to keep all the horses safe and healthy.
