Birthday Treat

A neighbour mid afternoon invited me to her place for a birthday roast and cake. I read the text message late in the day. I was so excited when I received her text.

Why not! Gosh! How wonderful! 

65! I wondered how I would feel about this age. Until the day I was sure it would be horrendous. I instead anyway found myself joyful all day.

This magnificent creation is made with a sponge cake base and employs a chocolate dessert mix! The original recipe I am advised called on a banana dessert mix but - o tough - she has to go in again for a try of the original as the supermarket was all out of banana. ;)
