Old sugar beet factory

This building opened in 1906 and produced sugar beets until 1913, when Arizona's statehood ended territorial tax incentives. In 1938, the Squirt Co. produced soda concentrate from grapefruits. Another company made soy sauce in the 1950s. It has been vacant since 1986.

This was a bit of an excursion from my apartment, plus it was 106 degrees (41C), sunny and breezeless. But it was worth it. This is an amazing building of what used to be.
