Trentham Gardens Meadow

This area of the gardens was woodland not very long ago. It had been hastily planted in 1976 after a fire. With plans to commemorate Lancelot Capability Brown's tercentenary next year, the area was cleared except for the enormous pines and redwoods. This meadow was then seeded. A few weeks later the results do not disappoint. There's meant to be a succession of flowers until December. Click here for a report from a local BBC reporter
