Now, as I see it......

Another beach day.....

Thanks for all the comments, stars and heart on my Blip yesterday. Sorry I've not replied to them all but you know how it is on holiday; busy doin' nothing, nothing the whole day through......

This is the view from our accommodation down to the beach we go to at the bottom of the bay, with the Turkish coast visible a couple of miles away in the background. We are quite high up in the village so it's about a half hour walk down to the beach, and if we don't get the bus back, at least a 45 minute walk back, and quite steep in places. We walked back this afternoon in around 38 degrees C (100 F) which feels very virtuous (if extremely hot) when you get back.

It's still quite quiet here but the local word is that this is normal for this week and nothing to do with the Greek financial crisis. Apparently the northern Europeans generally visit in June and early July and by the second half of July are replaced by southern Europeans; Italians, French and some Spanish people. Having been here many times it is noticable that there are quite a few Russians here this year who we haven't seen before; clearly Symi's fame is spreading.
