Just visiting

Heading for bed past midnight I was graced by the surprise appearance of this remarkable moth which came crashing into the bathroom. It landed in the waste bin and showed no inclination to leave. I popped the bath mat on top while I fetched my camera. Later I discovered it was a poplar hawk moth with its oddly arranged wings providing a leafy camouflage effect.

Later in the day another visitor arrived - blipfriend Grace!
