La Flotte

Another day another lighthouse but I think this one's much cuter than the big brick built one that featured in yesterday's blip. We went to La Flotte, which is a village on the north coast of the island. I'm told that it suffered badly in a storm and tidal surge a few years ago but we saw no sign of that today. The surge today seemed to be of bicycles, you could hardly move for them chained up everywhere. It must be what Beijing was like (I imagine the Chinese all have cars now).

We had lunch in a restaurant near on the quayside and sat next to French/English couple who knew the area well and filled us in on some of it's history. You can see that the sky is much cloudier and it feels a little humid today but with a bit of breeze it's nothing like it was in the south a few days ago.
