Monkshood

Monkshood is a relation of the delphinium, and adds welcome stature and a beautiful shape to a summer border. This cluster in poorish  soil outside the bedroom window grows higher every year. I've propagated clumps throughout the garden as they are so little work and the bees love them! I divide the tuberous roots in late autumn.They are robust enough to survive recent high winds without staking, apart from a few stems that have bit the dust.
