The Torch!

Large crowds,
sunshine,
fanfare,
flags,
noisy police outriders,
screaming kids in buggies,
the great and the good making speeches,
Dougie Maclean (famous for Caledonia) singing,
pipe bands,
Lady Susan Rice making a speech (who no-one applauded because they didn't know who she was)
and lots of excitable young schoolkids.

The Olympic torch relay made it's way from Scone Palace through the streets of Perth, a wee stop at the North Inch for speeches, then made it's way over to the South Inch, then on it's travels through Scotland.

I went with Cambo - he told me later that he thought the torch/flame would have been bigger.

I can tell you that the guy holding the torch is Keven Stewart, hailed as the next Chris Hoy. He is only 20 and was as proud as punch carrying it. He did not trip and the flame stayed alight!

Edit: I love the 1 year ago one. Nice memories.
