“You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time”. SEEMS to be atributed to their old Abe.
The window feeder started off with assorted seeds in, not over well received. Tried dried Meal Worms, Starlings got wind of it -
vanished "Like Snow off a Dyke", then the Blackbird got interested. I switched to a mix both = half happy.
I recently started to put a thin layer of worm topped by seed. Blacky &/or Starling(s) would take worms preferentially and what was left frequently  lasted all the rest of the day. Then came The Cushat. It, preferentially removed every trace of seed, leaving the field WIDE open for the Blacky to "Swan along" as  it were and make off with the "wurrums" at leisure.

Just for laughs:- Can you identify the famous Landmark in the "Extra" only added coz i took it this a.m. for another reason.
