Skating on thin ice

Actually, it's a concrete skating rink, but I'm definitely on thin ice with my sports photography skills. I'd like to blame my camera, but alas I feel the fault is with me. Sports photography involves being quick and I am a slow photographer - my children despair of how long it takes me to fiddle around focusing and changing settings.

So this shot is of my daughter in her speed skating class (my son was too fast to catch at all). Very poor quality I'm afraid - but most of the rest I took were of the floor with no skaters at all, so at least she's in the shot!

My homework: try and learn something about taking action shots (or stick to landscapes and nature!)
