St Columba's Isle

Bit of an indecision day today so apologies for anyone who viewed my original blip of bog cotton!

This is a picture of one of the ruins on St Columba's Isle (one of two such named islands on Skye that I know of - very confusing!).

The island is in the middle of the Snizort River at Skeabost and there is now a walkway that connects the island to the river bank. Although the water in the river is so low at the moment that you could almost get to the island without getting your feet wet without using a walkway!

St Columba is supposed to have built the first Christian church on Skye on the island, hence its name. There are quite a few graves there too but the information about them that I have looked up on the internet is very vague.

Anyway I liked the colour of the wild flowers (not weeds!) against the backdrop of the ruin.
