Cwins Away

We finally stopped the rot!

Tonight we were playing away at Cardiff Harlequins rugby town against Cwins Petanque club. After a day of rain it brightened up into the most gorgeous evening.

We won our first game 13-4, with Dawn playing extremely well and I shot well. We picked up a 5 on the third end and didn't look back from there really. Dad and Clive won their game, so we were once again 2-0 up at half time and a draw secured. Could we finally win that elusive third leg.

Well it wasn't coming from us. We dropped two 3's in the first two ends, before we picked up a single. We then picked up a 3 to give us some hope and we were back in the game, but to be honest we were struggling with the second piste after we swapped at half time.

We dropped another 3 and we were on the back foot from there, and lost 13-6. Dad and Clive were involved in a close match, but they managed to close it out 13-7 (I think), so we got a maximum for the first time in while. Another one of them and we can thrust our way up the table a bit.

We went back to the Barn for a celebratory drink afterwards ...  happy chappies!
