Lagoon view

Left UK in pouring rain and arrived to hot sunshine. Enjoyed a leisurely water bus trip from the airport to the Lido and got a taxi to the hotel. Seems nice. Changed and set off to explore the beach and environs, and enjoyed an aperitif in nearby bar overlooking the beach. Walked into main town through some quiet streets with beautiful houses, views over the lagoon to St Mark's in the twilight and found a lovely veggie restaurant where we had great fresh pasta and prosecco. Delicious.
Bus home (slight guesswork but we managed it) and then some gelato on the way back. Tired and hot but a great start to the holiday!
