Sunny Interlude

When we first booked the Prom in London, it seemed a good idea to see my Mum and Dad beforehand and J's Mum afterwards. Our leave has limits, and if we are in the south then it seems a good idea to see them - at a joint age of 274 years, they are all a bit of a worry.

It still does seem a good idea, but it has proved a bit of a drive-a- thon. Having said which we've done pretty well so far - even driving in and out of central London.

We had to get to the supermarket to sort out something to eat this evening. But as - remarkably - the sun had come out after rain all day we took a short diversion to Avon Beach. This is the view from the front window of the parked car. Windy conditions meant a very choppy sea, a real attraction for the windsurfing community.

A short walk from here to Mudeford harbour and back. Fewer people than you would expect in July - just a few crabbers, and the starlings have returned in force to chatter away around the lobster pots - see the extra.
