Reunion Day

My life seems to be dominated by weather at the moment!  Today I have been cold and wet and the heating has been on!  Landing a t Luton late-ish last night was cool to say the least, not to mention busy and chaotic.  One man on the car park bus had had his car moved!  Hope he got home all right.  We did offer help but the car park people were on their way - he'd parked on the walkway.  Then part of the M1 was closed so we ended up having a very slow journey home, arriving back today not yesterday!

Today has been school reunion day and what a lovely occasion it was in spite of miserable wet cold weather.  There was a selection of "Old Girls" from a range of year groups but it was great to share our memories - you can see four of our group in the extra photo.  We met at the Red House Glass Cone Coffee Shop which is the venue you see in my Blip.  Stourbridge and Brierley Hill used to have a substantial number of these cones as part of the landscape dominated by glass-making works which developed at the start of the 18th century.  This one was part of the Stuart Glass works and was last used in 1936.  It is 100 ft high and is the only complete Cone left in the area.  There are only four left in the whole of the UK.  It's a fascinating pace if you are interested in exploring the history of glassmaking.  The coffee shop was a good place to be too!
