Walking on Eggshells...

Every day I keep waiting for Alan's miraculous recovery to begin, but it's a slow process.

He was awake a fair bit during the night so has been really tired today.  He was keen to have some custard at breakfast time, but as I gave him his medicine, he managed to accidentally bite his sore, ulcerated lip and wasn't keen to try to eat afterwards.  I don't blame him, it must have been agony.

I tried again just after 2pm and to my surprise, he managed to eat a tin of ravioli and a load of chocolate buttons, so some progress is being made.

He's spent the whole afternoon snuggled with his fleecy blanket, nodding off then waking and nodding off again, so we've been tiptoeing round the house trying not to disturb him.

Just about to offer him some dinner.  Fingers crossed he eats some of that so he can start to feel a bit stronger.

On a brighter note, got friends Drew and Audrey coming for lunch next Tuesday and then Blip pal Karen and her husband Dave coming all the way from NZ to stay with us for a couple of days before continuing their European adventure.  So looking forward to them coming :-))
