Loaded for Bear

Before we came away, Tom begged and begged for some water balloons to play with (chuck at his sisters more like) in the pool.

We were a bit hesitant. They take ages to fill, there's always more water on the kitchen floor than in the balloon, and then all those exploded bits of plastic to pick up? Hmmm, not interested.

But then, on Amazon, I saw that you could get self-filling, self-tying water balloons and not only that, you could fill about 50 at a time. All hesitation vanished and I felt as excited as a kid sending off for a chest-expander in the back of the Dandy. This was going to be life-changing!!

They came. They weren't quite as big as I'd hoped. They didn't fit on the first two or three taps we tried, but Tom is King of Trial and Error. Eventually, dreams of Water War did come true and we spent a happy morning flinging waterbombs around the pool.

And the rest of the afternoon picking up pieces of exploded plastic.
