The last of Scotland

This is the John O'Groats Hotel, snapped just as we left the Scottish mainland for Orkney on the 09:00 ferry (which left at 08:47 - eek!)

We didn't stay here last night. Perhaps we should have done: let's just say that where we did stay was not quite our kind of place. However, it was only a single night stop-off en route, so it didn't really matter that it wasn't our cup of tea (and certainly not Mr hazelh's cup of coffee on the basis of what was served at breakfast).

We cycled across a total of 6 islands today: South Ronaldsay, Burray, Glims Holm, Lamb Holm, Mainland and Westray. Tomorrow we're off to Papa Westray.

Exercise today: 30 miles of tandem riding.
