On the Ferry

We left super early as we knew Operation Stack was still in situ and that there had been issues on both the chunnel and the ferries. What we didn't really expect was that 10 miles from Dover at 06.15am we would come to a grinding halt and only cover the next 10miles in two hours! Goodness knows how long it would have taken later in the day. Needless to say we missed our ferry but were put straight on to the next one due to sail, which then left twenty minutes later than it's schedule.

We all had breakfast and headed out for some fresh air and then the boat began to move up and down a little. It was the smallest swell ever. Neither child's stomach was happy. Mine, which usually complains, just thought they were being soft, that was until the littlest sailor vomited three times in succession! Luckily into a toilet. He was right as rain after and even said, "See Mummy, I told you I felt sick!". Hmm right now we are considering the train both ways next time!

So we arrived two hours plus later than anticipated, but the sun was shining and it was 25degrees. A warm welcome from our hosts and the best stocked welcome pack ever, even something to help us celebrate our anniversary! We are on holiday!
