Brits on the beach...

...at Clacton On Sea, Essex.

Drove to see Ralph in Holland On Sea late morning and will stay overnight. After lunch we walked along the sea front as far as Clacton Pier, (note Gunfleet Sands wind farm 7km off shore) walked the boards of the pier - don't know the last time I walked along an Essex seaside pier with all its funfair rides and cotton candy stalls - and then after a cup of tea, we walked back again.  A round trip of five miles on this cloudy and rather windy day, although the sun did pop out here and there.  Admired those few brave enough to sit on the beach!
