Mission Accomplished

The mission today was to fulfill a lunchtime desire for Scampi and Chips.   Easy, I thought, until I began to research the possible venues.
A simple lunchtime meal like this should be typical pub grub, however fancy its description might be dressed up for the menu.
We knew it was not on the menu of the most recent wine bar and eatery we had visited yesterday, and while most pubs with their own websites should give us the answer immediately, there is never any guarantee that we would actually find it on the menu when we arrived.
As it happened, we were fortunate and found three possible venues within a five minute drive . . . and with our daughter Claire, plumped for this one, simply because I had not been there since it was refurbished a little while back.
But success! We knew it was the right choice simply by the outside summer attire of colourful summer floral dressing — even though at that time we did not know whether the menu would meet our wishes — with the simple pub meal of Scampi and Chips.
And, Bingo. We had the pub grub we were looking for, and for Claire whose home these days is in the south of France, it was like a blast from the past before she moved to the sunshine.  You would be unlikely to find it on a French menu — and she should know with her partner and his brother running their own restaurant business close to the Mediterranean.

Just one more thing to complete the visit — posing for today’s colourful floral Polaroid Blipfoto!
