If you can't beat them...

Surprise Coby

I don't like to put up too many flower shots but yet again I am.

A busy day , a trip to Carlisle was needed  with many things to do not least to drop of some old computing gear and a mass of cables at a charity dealing with mobility.  After that a call in at the supermarket followed by our usual coffee at the garden centre, then a visit to the caters equipment suppliers we use for the lodge.

While we were at the garden centre I discovered dahliettas, I had never heard of them before.  Depending on which source you read they are either a hybrid between types of dahlia or just dahlias.  Which ever they are they result in tiny (8 or 10inch) plants with gorgeous coloured flowers.  They also appear to have tubers which can be over wintered just like regular dahlias.
