Thomas Telford Bridge

Working at Aberlour in the heart of Spey Side Malt Whisky country today. Our over night accommodation is at Craigellachie a couple of miles along the road.
Craigellachie has something in common with Spean Bridge near home, Both villages have a Thomas Telford Bridge. This one was designed and built in 1814 and is an elegant structure spanning the River Spey. We are good 85 miles from home here and this mighty river, though low presently, really charges along. It rises in the water shed of its own waters and that of the River Roy and its source is an easy walk from Glen Roy
