Symmetry

“Objects that have identical or very similar parts lying at equal distances from a center point or plane—-that is, objects that have symmetry—often work better.   Symmetry helps boats stay upright in water.”

I never quite thought of symmetry in exactly this way before….. and then there’s the more common reflection…..

Good chance ( it's my weekly blip challenge)to blip this very old two hulled Livingston dinghy which we have had at least 35 years.    It traveled with our sailboat on some adventures, our kids sailed it (it has a centerboard, rudder and a sail) and motored it too.  We since have had a couple other inflatables but one can never have too many boats, right?  Then this one had holes drilled so the grandkids could play with it on land…or I could make a planter -  but that never happened.  We decided to plug the holes and see if it floats (it does!) and tied it to our buoy.  We plan to leave it at the beach at the end of the bay.. I know it will get played with….

Report-- the "nose job" on the red dog from yesterday;s blip seems to be fine... will paint.
And now friends have arrived on their sailboat at the dock  ---with dinner!
