Mallard Duck (Female)

Lovely to see these ducks on the pond, but I was surprised to see only female Mallards. It's really silly cold here for this time of the year, that I'm wondering if the males have already flown off to somewhere a bit warmer! Actually I think Mallards don't usually do that kind of thing & are resident birds, but this weather is making me long for completely blue skies and the warmth of the sun. Apparently it's set to change from tomorrow, but watch this space! Sorry to complain about the weather, but it really is more like winter than summer.
