Puffin Island & Red Wharf Bay #Anglesey

More rain today but we had some dry spells. Took the young uns over to Penmon, the wind is north westerly and it was pretty chilly. We headed for the café for a spot of lunch.

There's a nice little bay on the road near Penmon, we stopped there and did some beach combing: I collected some stones and other pretty things, The Sailor collected crab legs and various other body parts ...

We headed for Menai Bridge and had a nice walk along the Straits, more sheltered than Penmon.

This evening we went for a meal at The Ship, Red Wharf Bay. As we were leaving we noticed someone jogging in the middle of the beach, the tide was coming in and they appeared to be in trouble - they ran across to the Llanddona side of the bay.

Someone had called the emergency services: the Lifeboat (see extra photo) appeared, the RIB was launched, the helicopter appeared and the Coastguard arrived amid sirens and flashing lights. People standing at the barrier in the photo are the Coastguard.

As far as we know all was well and no one got hurt.
