snug

that's what our girl is now...

It's been a strange day with little un, I think she's a bit under the weather...

She wasn't keen to get in the car this morning, but had a small snooze and woke up cheery...Then at our house she was quite clingy and a bit like a rag doll... far too compliant and not her normal spirited self... she was cuddled on me for a while watching Winnie the pooh (this was unusual as I normally get poked, prodded and forced into making silly noises and faces) she wouldn't eat anything at all (not even a biscuit) and then later fell asleep on Dave's knee... some of the foster carers family have come down with a bug, so it could be that, or it could be that she's a bit overwhelmed being carted back and forth between houses...  we took her back a bit early today so that she could be back on familiar turf,  but she was still cuddling into Dave when we got there  and she was still out of sorts even with the foster carers... when we  got back to our house we had a reassuring text saying that she had managed a smidge to eat, a dose of calpol and had conked out within minutes of being put in her cot, and a picture showing her snuggled with her teddy..  I hope she get's some good rest and feels more perky tomorrow...

However, tomorrow is one of the scheduled rest days  so we're not seeing little un :-(  but we're due to have a quick FaceTime conversation if she's up for it... This might be a good thing, as it's intended to give little un a chance to regroup after all the disruption to her routine...  then Sunday she's due to come to us again,  but we might go off plan depending on how she's feeling, as it's nearly an hour each way in the car...

I wish we could tell what she was thinking and feeling... but the best we can do is to work closely with the foster carers to help her manage the transition as best as possible... It goes to  show how important it is for all the adults in the process to work together... Fortunately the foster carers are really lovely people... at the moment little un has two sets of concerned parents to fuss over her and make her happy and we're keeping each other updated and swapping info as much as possible... we're really lucky because this would be so difficult if we didn't get along...

So tomorrow is for sleep, vitamins and (fingers crossed) some positive updates that get us back on track...
