Leaning gravestone, Church Knowle

None of the old tombs or gravestones in Church Knowle's churchyard are entirely upright.

This is the gravestone of Laurence Warburton Pike, 1850-1900.  The inscription at the bottom was added after his wife's death in 1933, and refers to her.  The grave is also covered by a large (almost horizontal) slab bearing an inscription about Laurence.

He clearly wanted to be remembered as a nature lover.  Just see how many squirrels you can count!
