Gently down the stream

Turn over the earth

This is where I've been this evening.  It's a piece of farmland where - on the road side - houses have been built (one in background) and on this, the stream side, the land was used as a dump for moved earth.  For the moment - ie this summer - it's just been left.  Turn over the earth and look what you get.  Isn't it just astonishing the variety of wildflowers that have grown up?  Of these, some are the invasive ones, but you have to marvel at their tenacity.  I also saw nests in the long grass where deer have been lying and lots of rabbits scuttering away into the undergrowth.  I was trespassing of course, but no-one cared enough to stop me.  Mad old lady with camera - maybe they didn't think it worth accosting this slightly crazed looking dame..

Hope your Saturday's been good and your Sunday's even better  xx
