Marrowstone at the Mt Baker

Best part of the day was the concert we attended this afternoon. It does something wonderful to my soul to listen to two large orchestras of young musicians who are passionate and fantastic. That is what we heard today. The first group of students played a symphony by Howard Hanson. I had never heard it before. Arvin either. It was loud and so well played, too loud for Arvin's ears, but still dramatically wonderful. After intermission a different group of students played Holst's "The Planets." Wow! Just fantastic. And they were big orchestras. We listened to a huge group of young musicians who were obviously working their tails off to make great music. Made this old Classical music lover very happy.
