This church, where these guys reside, is undergoing a very expensive restoration. The rood screen has been completely removed and the original timber beam above where it stood is as rotten as a pear. Hundreds of years of layers of whitewash have been carefully removed from the stone walls. I was most interested by this colour swatch of plaster samples.
