First train run!

Today I unpacked several freight cars and hooked up the loco to make an inaugural run over the mainline.  All turnouts and track are wired - at least what has been laid.  I chose the longest cars as well as an assortment of styles and weights to test the track for anything that might cause a derailment.  It was really fun - been a long time since this stuff has been on the rails.

Only problems were one switch that would not operate (loose connection), and a couple of places that need the track cleaned again.  This is certainly a milestone for the railroad.  

I plan on finishing the staging yard with backdrop, painted rails, and ballast so that I can run a variety of trains and fully test everything out.  Then do the backdrop for the main layout and the scenery that lays between the backdrop and the mainline.  Also have to program some macros that will control multiple turnouts. Then on with the rest of the track work.
