Warkworth Castle

A lovely afternoon spent exploring Warkworth Castle with my nephew and his family, who've come up to Northumberland for a week's holiday. Then a short walk by the river on the way to a tea shop - Louie was allowed in, and sat under the table helping to sample the excellent chocolate cake, carrot cake and scones with cream!

MrM and I made our way home via High Newton, where we'd intended to have a picnic. And so we did, but it was a picnic in the car as the rain had started. It eased up for long enough for us to walk on the beach after we'd eaten.
