Footy anyone?

Today we made it to the footy - footy is short for 'football'! Aussie rules football. The league is called AFL.

Martin treated us to a full on Australian experience. We watched Sydney Swans play Adelaide Crows.

It really was a wonderful event and with the recent controversy and incidents with star player Adam Goodes, it was special to be there and see support for him.

We started the day meeting up with some friends at Manly beach and having a walk around the beach there. A lovely warm day and we were down to one layer. It's been amazing, the weather. So grateful its warmed up while we're here.

Left our friends to head back to town to see the footy at the Sydney Cricket Ground. We were thoroughly impressed by the free public transport that they had all over town. We just followed the sea of red and made it to the stadium well in time. The atmosphere was euphoric and I was just thrilled to be there. Fantastic venue too! Then after the game, they had free transport again back to major locations all over town - GREAT service. Never seen anything like it.

We ended the day at Town Hall at a fabulous Japanese restaurant, complete with iPad to order all your food and drinks on! So neat and absolutely delicious.
