The Blackcountry Man

Blickling Hall....

After we stayed in all day yesterday we decided that we would head for Bure Vally Railway, a narrow gauge steam railway that is near Aylsham.
We decided to do the Train and Boat ride and Maddi just loved it.
We did the train from Aylsham to Wroxham and then took the boat for a 2 hour boat ride around the Broads. The houses on the river are something else, I don't know how much they would cost but I bet it would be a tidy pound or two.

After a packed lunch we decided as we were in the area to have a trip around Blickling Hall, a National Trust building.
Built around 1620 for Sir Henry Hobart, 1st Baronet, Lord Chief Justice to James I. Then it was passed to the Lothian family who in turn handed it to the National trust 75 years ago, even before the national trust was formed, and was their first house.

The gardens were superb as was the house, Maddi just loved it.

Off to another tomorrow.
